THE
P.I.C.A. MAGAZINE
The PICA
Magazine started life in 1974 and was just a two page 'news
sheet'. Since then it has grown into a fully illustrated 32
page magazine and is published three times a year, and also
includes colour. The magazine relies upon the membership to
submit articles of interest, which it publishes. Included in
the magazine are regular items such as members adverts,
information requests, badge updates, book reviews and swap
meeting information.

"Police
Buttons Volume 2" by H. Ripley.

Howard Ripley's book
"Police Buttons" which appeared in 1983 provided a record of
all police forces in Great Britain and Ireland. Since
publication he has continued his research into this subject
and this has enabled him to prepare a second volume. This
result is a work featuring 268 clear line drawings of police
buttons. Many of these illustrate the buttons worn by the
small police forces in the early years of Queen Victoria's
reign and which are now extremely rare
